I guess the idea was "forced community". The plan of the house has the up-stairs of each residence located above the down-stairs of the other. The four stairways located in a small gap between the main portions of the building run parallel to each other. The large porches and balconies which extend to the roof are accessible by their respective staircase toward the side of the building. Im not sure what the room plan would look like because I was only concerned with the massing... It was just fun to think about the interactions that would take place by the occupants.
